About Us


Dr. Scott Wooddell established his practice in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1989, moving here !Tom his native Northern Virginia.

He received his Bachelor in Science degree in Biology from the Virginia Military Institute, graduating with Distinction in 1982. He next attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1986, again graduating with Distinction.

Dr. Wooddell was selected to attend the prestigious Northern Virginia Podiatric Residency Program, an intensive two-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency affiliated with Georgetown University Hospital. There he served as Chief Resident in 1988.

Dr. Wooddell is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons gaining Diplomate status with his Board Certification in 1993. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, and a member of the American, Virginia, and Hampton Roads Podiatric Medical Associations.

Dr. Wooddell has lectured extensively on two of his areas of particular expertise-foot and ankle surgery and podiatric sports medicine. A lifelong involvement with athletics and experience as a competitive distance runner and marathoner has led him to develop a high level of expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries of the foot and ankle.
